7.2 Magnitude Eartquake to Hit Metro Manila Philippines

Living in Marikina where a faultline was discovered and was actually named Marikina Faultline, I am ever worried about possible earthquake occurrences.

In a tour on urban safety I joined together with international delegates from Asia and the Pacific, our guide disclosed that experts anticipates a 7.2 magnitude earthquake to hit Metro Manila Philippines anytime.

He further said the impact of the earthquake would separate Marikina and Pasig Cities from the rest of Metro Manila as the two cities would be surrounded by water. I actually shivered upon hearing this. Focal persons from Marikina and Pasig are already mapping out plans to cushion the effect of the predicted earthquake. Thousands of fatalities are expected from the probable disaster.

For now, all we can do is to pray, pray and pray. Since we do not know when this great earthquake would happen, it’s really a matter of fortune where we are when it happens.
