A Mom’s Search for a Safe Bathroom

As a mother,  it is my lifelong task to ensure my son’s safety every step of the way. In our household, I am the interior designer although at times, my designs are usually messed up with the different muddle around the house.

My husband and I usually don’t agree with my concepts especially because beauty can be expensive. If you wanted to make some improvement in the house to make it prettier, replacement of old stuff are usually needed. That’s the part he does not like which I always fight for at the end just so our house would look pleasing in the eyes.

Among the part of house I usually take care of designing is our bathroom. More than anything else, bathroom safety is a must for me. Although we have a small house, the size of our bathroom is spacious because my father who designed the whole house thought I am a big woman and I would need a big bathroom.

A bathroom, first and foremost should not be slippery especially for children and old people. This I ensure by cleaning the floor tiles often. Aside from that, I always scout for bathroom mats that would protect my son from slipping while he’s taking his bath or using the toilet.  I change my bathroom mats every so often especially if there’s a new design in the market that is not only non-slip but also, wonderful to look at. Who says safety and aesthetic does not go together? :)
