A Thought on Philippine Politics

Today, Filipinos who are aware and curious about the recent development and issues in the country’s politics are tuning in to the announcement of the party Lakas-CMD which is expected to declare today their party’s standard presidential bearer. Since Vice President Noli de Castro just bailed out of Lakas, only two presidentiables are being considered by the party, namely: MMDA Chairman Bayani “BF” Fernando and Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro.

The party for sure is strategizing so they can come up with a candidate who can run neck-in-neck with the Liberal Party’s bet Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino  who is now the most popular presidential candidate after the death of her mother, the late president Corazon “Cory Aquino. Sen. Noynoy topped the recent poll of Social Weather Station (SWS) putting behind him the consistently popular Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar and Noli de Castro.

As for me, I am a pro-active observer of what’s happening in the local and national politics and I am deeply concerned and distrubed with the highly-politicized and highly-corrupted system of government in our country. But even with these truths, I am determined not to lose hope — for my son who would grow up as (I hope) a proud Pinoy, and for the whole nation of young Filipinos who (I hope) would turn around this country for the better.

With this, I leave everyone my thought and hope on Philippine politics:

Amidst the political debacles, believe there’s hope for a changed government. Without it, what will happen to this Nation?
