Fans of the Samsung Galaxy mobile phones await the newest installment in the series. Maybe the popularity of the Galaxy SII, being one of the models leading the pack of Android-powered smartphones, led Samsung to create the now infamous Galaxy SIII.

Unlike Apple’s strategy of keeping their upcoming phone’s features and photo undisclosed until their official press launch, Samsung’s newest Galaxy phone tested the reaction and stirred interest in their product through leaked images and specifications before it finally revealed the official product image of the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Among the phone’s highlighted and must-check-out features are:

4.8″ HD SAMOLED display
quad-core Exynos processor
8-megapixel camera
1GB RAM
64GB of onboard storage
Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)

In this high-paced world, it is important, or imperative even that you don’t lose contact. Through technology, getting in touch is not anymore a problem, even if you live in the farthest part of the globe.

Through technology, communication is made simpler and long distance relationships are bridged by using mobile phones, laptops and other communication gadgets. Now that Valentines Day is fast approaching, romantic couples count on these devices to send their love and affection virtually.

Training for Android Apps Developers

As the battle of the best OS (operating system) for smartphones continues, the people behind Android is beeping up the competition. It recently launched the “Android Training” in beta, a collection of online resources that will guide Android developers and wannabes build better (and hopefully, the best) applications.

Android by Google still lead the pack as the most preferred OS for Smartphone. Closely behind is Apple’s iPhone OS or iOS, RIM for Blackberry phones, Windows Mobile for Windows Smartphones and Pocket PCs, and Symbian for Nokia phones.

Some of the main topics available under the Android Training resources are: designing multiple screens, improoving layout performance, sharing content, designing effective navigation and monetizing apps.

Considering Style and Fashion in Consumer Electronics

Being a techy and a gadget freak, I’m always on the lookout for new innovations in technology, particularly in the area of consumer electronics. While I cannot afford everything, at least I can muse about the latest electronics and at least set aside budget for the purchase of some (or one) that I really rave and are (or is) within my means.

There are two basic electronics I can’t live without these days — my laptop and mobile phones. These gadgets are necessities as a career woman and a blogger and they also speak of my passion and fashion. My gadgets reflects my style. Being techy, I always scrutinize the features of the personal computer or cellular phones I’m buying but in most times also, my love for fashion wins over the desired specifications. I love gadgets that look so girly and eye-catching.

One thing is for sure though, I only buy electronic gadgets from known makers to ensure the quality of products and after-sales support for items with warranty. This way also, I can make sure that the li ion batteries, chargers and headsets, and other accessories that comes with the products are made of high quality as usually, these are not covered by warranty.

Apple Selling Unlocked iPhone 4S

In the past, no matter how much you wanted an Apple iPhone and wanted to buy it as it is, you can’t unless you agree with a carrier’s contract.

Not anymore though as Apple started selling their newest unlocked and contract-free iPhone 4S. With this deal, you may now switch from carrier to carrier without being locked for a year or couple of years with a network company.

The limitation though with these unlocked iPhone 4S is they only support GSM carriers. The price: $649 for the 16gb iPhone 4s, $749 for the 32gb version and $849 for the 64gb version.

Reliable and Handy Dictionary App for Android

One of the beauties of owning an Android powered mobile phone is the free applications available at the “Market” for Android users. Among the hundreds of applications I probably downloaded for free at the Android Market and online, my favorites and most used apps are the free dictionaries.

Of all the free dictionaries for Android, I downloaded those with good reviews online. These dictionaries are accessible offline.

One is the Merriam Webster Dictionary created by the credible known dictionary maker Merriam-Webster Inc. which is ad supported but very useful and user-friendly. At the same time, the ads only pop out when you’re online. Here’s the application’s description at the Market site:

The app is free, and supported by ads.

This dictionary is very helpful. Apart from the wide-array of words or terms available, the dictionary does not just display the meaning but even the synonyms, antonyms and the use of the word or term in a sentence. If you’re online, you can even listen to the correct pronunciation of the word or term. I highly recommend the download of this app.

Be Amazed with iPhone 5

If you just bought the latest phone from Apple, the iPhone4, you won’t be happy to know that soon enough, another upgrade of the rave iPhones will hit the market. Your pricey and sophisticated iPhone will soon become obsolete as it’s predecessor take over the international mobile scene.

The question now is “what could be the amazing and jaw-dropping features of the iPhone5″ which is speculated to come out in the fall of 2012. Since the iPhone and iPad legendary maker Apple remained mum about the questions on their newest mobile baby, speculations from techy spectators arise.

Some of the rumors include a “lite” or slimmer or scaled down iPhone. Others think this one will be a premium model, whatever that means. Of course, many thinks the upgrade on the new Apple baby will lie on the hardware part, like having a multi-core processor or an A5 chip or an upgraded graphics processor. There are also rumors about upgrade on its external features like camera and video (higher resolution), screen (wider) and new output slots (such as HDMI).

While the market release may happen in 2012, there’s also an expectation that Apple will announce iPhone5 at their World Developers Conference next month.
