In this high-paced world, it is important, or imperative even that you don’t lose contact. Through technology, getting in touch is not anymore a problem, even if you live in the farthest part of the globe.

Through technology, communication is made simpler and long distance relationships are bridged by using mobile phones, laptops and other communication gadgets. Now that Valentines Day is fast approaching, romantic couples count on these devices to send their love and affection virtually.

It’s not anymore an excuse that one is not able to keep in touch because the cellular phone was not charged (low battery) or there was no cellphone signal in the area. This is so because there are now portable charging stations and devices for cellphones and most areas now, no matter how remote, have cell sites which provides signal. And for areas that are having problems with signals, you can now use cell phone boosters which would extend cell signals in the area.

With technology, couples should be able to spend quality virtual time together.

If you’re interested or in the business of creating online video advertisements, it won’t hurt to consider the result of the survey conducted by Poll Position dot com.

According to the about page of the site, poll position is a non-partisan social media company which do market research by conducting polls online or by phone engaging every American willing to take their surveys.

The poll result on the “online video ads” suggests that customers wanted short ads with not more than 15-second view time. Usually, free contents such as videos are free for viewing but only after you view short online video clips. The survey revealed that 54% of the respondents answered that 15 seconds is the acceptable time in viewing an online video ad prior seeing the free content.

This particular survey is participated by about 1,179 respondents conducted through a telephone survey. A small percentage of 12 percent though think that 30 seconds is the appropriate length.

As the battle of the best OS (operating system) for smartphones continues, the people behind Android is beeping up the competition. Considering Style and Fashion in Consumer Electronics

Being a techy and a gadget freak, I’m always on the lookout for new innovations in technology, particularly in the area of consumer electronics. While I cannot afford everything, at least I can muse about the latest electronics and at least set aside budget for the purchase of some (or one) that I really rave and are (or is) within my means.

There are two basic electronics I can’t live without these days — my laptop and mobile phones. These gadgets are necessities as a career woman and a blogger and they also speak of my passion and fashion. My gadgets reflects my style. Being techy, I always scrutinize the features of the personal computer or cellular phones I’m buying but in most times also, my love for fashion wins over the desired specifications. I love gadgets that look so girly and eye-catching.

One thing is for sure though, I only buy electronic gadgets from known makers to ensure the quality of products and after-sales support for items with warranty. This way also, I can make sure that the li ion batteries, chargers and headsets, and other accessories that comes with the products are made of high quality as usually, these are not covered by warranty.

Toyota Fun Vii, the Future of Concept Cars

If a car looking like a smartphone which keeps on changing exterior design like a fancy touchscreen wallpaper past you on a busy street, won’t you stare with awe? I would.

The world’s leading car manufacturer, Toyota, unveiled their latest concept car which it named “Fun Vii.”

The car’s name sounds more like a video game but it’s functionality and features are more than virtual. The Toyota Fun Vii was unveiled during the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and immediately caught on the interest of auto enthusiasts and tech geeks. “Vii” stands for Vehicle, Interactive, Internet. Auto bloggers call it a car which functions like a smartphone which surfaces (on and within) are like giant touchscreen that can change color and graphic design through the driver’s command.

One more smartphone-like feature of this car model is that it uses wireless connections that interact with other vehicles and the infrastructure of its surroundings which makes it shift to “Auto Drive Mode” if the driver so desire. There’s even a “hologram” or virtual female concierge that would assist you along the drive.

If you’re thinking if the car is good for families, I don’t think so. It’s a mini-auto which is 13-feet long and a small-sized 3-seater which is way cramped for a family.

Apple Selling Unlocked iPhone 4S

In the past, no matter how much you wanted an Apple iPhone and wanted to buy it as it is, you can’t unless you agree with a carrier’s contract.

Not anymore though as Apple started selling their newest unlocked and contract-free iPhone 4S. With this deal, you may now switch from carrier to carrier without being locked for a year or couple of years with a network company.

The limitation though with these unlocked iPhone 4S is they only support GSM carriers. The price: $649 for the 16gb iPhone 4s, $749 for the 32gb version and $849 for the 64gb version.

Facebook Users Complains Privacy Issues

Facebook is now into the habit of changing and upgrading it’s features. Users have different opinions and feelings about these developments though, particularly when privacy issue is concern.

One of the recent feature of Facebook is found at the upper right side of your homepage when you log in to your Facebook account. In that corner called “Ticker,” you can view the activities of your friends — what they visited, commented, liked, and whatever is possible doing with this social networking site. This means though that your friends in your list may very well view your activities too.

This feature is by default. If you don’t want others looking at your activities, you may turn the feature off but how many Facebook users actually know and mind how to turn off features and applications that may very well invade their privacy.

It’s alright to be social, it’s now a popular way to connect with friends and share your life with people but make sure you know and you allowed the social networking site how much information it should give away about you.
