Dream Life, Dream House

Dreaming keeps us alive, at least, it feels that way for me. I always say I wanted a simple life but within this simple confines, I am dreaming a little more of what I already have in my life.

This afternoon, I took again a long look at our little and cramp house. Although I love our house, it is a legacy from my father who almost singlehandedly built it, I really a wanted a bigger house with a small lawn. Ours right now is a 24 square meter flat without a garage or a backyard. The smallness of the place makes it a challenge to decorate and to put in place our appliances and stuff. Oftentimes, it looks like a havoc just been there.

I really wanted a bigger house. Not a mansion nor a house meant for the rich. I just wanted a bigger house than what we have now and with a small lawn or a backyard where we can plant some flowers and park a small car if and ever we can afford it already. Since I’m a fan of home style and house makeover magazines, I already have in mind the look I wanted for my dream house.

I wanted a theme for the house, I actually wanted several themes because I wanted every section or area of the house to have a theme. For instance, the master bedroom to look very cozy, a touch of Asian Zen with a drama. The lounging area to look Filipino with wood flooring. The kitchen to look modern and efficient and our child’s room to look very youthful and interesting for a child. The only thing lacking now is the house itself ‘ayt?:D

Part of my dream is to land a good job with a nice-paying salary for our dream house to come alive. My job right now, though fulfilling and enjoyable for me, is not even good enough for a little saving every payday. I really have to work thrice as much in order for me to make some realities of this dream come to life.

Dreaming powers me, spice my ordinary life and motivates me to work harder and better. I hope that one day soon, I would be able to save a little to at least pay for the down payment of  the house I am dreaming of for my family. I hope…
