Facebook acquired another young internet firm which is the “Hot Potato”. Hot Potato has a system that lets people know where they are and what they are doing at any given time.

Only last Wednesday, Facebook introduced a new service that allowed United States based members to share their location with friends while they are on the move. This service is called the Facebook Places.

A Places application for iPhones was released and members using smartphones with web browser and geo-location can access Places via touch.facebook.com.
