Gadgets and Gizmos for Kids

Isn’t it today youngsters are so into technology, gadgets, gizmos, and everything and anything electronic? My 7-year-old boy just asked me to give him a cellular phone. I was like: “Oh not yet baby, you’ll have yours when you’re in fourth year high.” He said to me rolling his eyes, “Ma, all my classmates now have cell phones and I’m the only first grader without it.”

I guess my idea of allowing children the use of electronics and expensive gadgets such as cellular phones is too old fashioned. My son made sure I understand this point and I did. I handed him down my old back-up phone, not pricey but stil fashionable and complete with essential features. He was happy with the phone and is now bugging everyone to text him back.

If you’re child already owns a cellphone and you’re still thinking what to gadget or gizmo to give him aside from the addictive PSP and xbox, take a look at these new cool techy stuff from Samsung:

  • The Beat DJ Phone. Now that beat box is taking the center stage and young people are so into it, Samsung’s Beat DJ Phone is a good bet for a welcome tech gift. It’s a slide phone with touch screen but with back-up keypad. Your kid would love how the phone can select music and add effects, mix sounds or “scratch” records according to his whim and still do everything like texting and calling at the same time. Cool indeed! (photo from itechnews.net)

  • The S3 MP3 Player. Kids who go gaga over music would love this stylistic MP3 player. Truly portable as it is very thin, just 9.8mm. Design for better grip with it’s rounded edges and slightly curved body, you need not worry that your child will drop it when he gets excited. What’s cool about this S3 Player is that it can scan the entire FM range in less than 60 seconds and automatically place available stations in preset. I like this already. Available in trendy and bright colors too. (photo from mobilewhack.com)

  • The Tic Toc MP3 Player. Aren’t these Tic Toc players so cute? I’m sure your fashionista kids will love these newest MP3 players from Samsung.  What’s different about Tic Toc? It uses gravity for control — shake the player one way to forward to another song or move it another direction to alter volume levels. Shaking is so much fun when you can play music with it right? It’s so small it’s truly portable, just a little over an inch and the designs are very “kikay” and fashionable. (photo from ipods.techfresh.net)
