The Apple iPhone Touch fever has been up since it was officially introduced in the Philippines by Globe Telecom in August. But even before then, unauthorized mobile distributors has already been selling iPhone at really lower price than Globe’s which ranges from 37,000 to 43,000.
Although many aspire owning this internet mobile device, the affordability of the handset discouraged them from buying. Globe offered slash prices of these sleek Wi-Fi capable handsets but their sale price remained very expensive.
You can just imagine how Google’s new internet phone would impact the Philippine Market. Google has released very recently their version of internet phone — the T-Mobile G1. Why buy G1 over the hot-selling iPhone? First, it’s so much cheaper and second, it’s powered by Google so you can expect better internet browsing experience.
Although G1 is not yet available in the Philippines, it is now sold in stores in the United States and cost only $179. In terms of appearance, G1 is slightly narrower but a bit thicker than its competitor.
Some of the features of the G1 includes: touch screen function, trackball navigator, high-speed internet browsing with Wi-Fi capability., 3.0 megapixel camera with photo-sharing and SMS or text mesaging services with email. Its best feature that is not present with iPhone – a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a winner for those who wanted simple and easy encoding.
What’s more, Amazon.com just announced that their entire catalog og MP3 Music store would be available for G1. Amazon sure wanted to tease Apples iTune’s Store, we’ll see very soon which would sell music like hotcakes. If you are fond of YouTube, G1 is for you since Google own this video-sharing site since 2006.
Amazing phone ain’t it? I can’t wait for the time it becomes available in the Philippines.
