Graduations and Summer Vacations

The scorching heat would remind you that summer is here.  More than the thrills of summer though, what I’m really looking forward and planning on is my son’s school vacation and graduation. The start of holy week is early this year so the school’s break and graduation ceremonies are scheduled early too. My son already took his final exams and now, we’re just waiting for the result which would determine if he stays on the honor roll as his class’ top 3.

This graduation is particularly exciting because after this, my son’s next graduation would be six years later as a grade six elementary student. Last year, he commenced from nursery as the first honor of all classes in his batch and we were mighty proud of him. He jumped from nursery to preparatory since he’s advance in his learning.

We are already planning for his summer’s activity at this time. His last summer breaks were spent still in classroom so he would be well prepared in his regular classes. We feel he had enough academics in two years, this time we want him to enjoy his summer vacation doing something fun.

His father, wanting his son to grow up athletic is planning to buy him sports gifts and make him choose what sports clinic he wanted to enlist in this summer. Our son is already thinking hard between karate and swimming. He’s already practicing his kicks at home and he’s already excited.

The most important thing is that we would support whatever makes our only son happy. We’re grateful that he’s interested too in his studies despite his being playful, I just hope that he would keep up his fondness for academics until he grows up. Parenting is indeed exciting and it is especially so when you are with your child every step of the way.
