Holy Week Pilgrims, Travels and Activities

In two days, the holy week and long holiday commence. Any plans yet?

A lot of people are traveling, either out of town or out of the country this week taking advantage of the long weekend. Our family’s practiced was to stay at home during the holy week and join community activities for the Lenten like the Pinoy’s traditional pabasa.

To those who are traveling by bus or by sea, make sure you go to the terminal before your travel schedule to secure your tickets. Otherwise, you’ll spend hours or maybe days waiting as a chance passenger. If you are traveling with your own vehicle, make sure you do car tune up before the travel. Check the motor engine, the batteries, and everything that may affect the condition of the vehicle during the travel. If you can, have a good car mechanic fully check it to ensure it is in good running condition. Be prepared, bring basic car repair tools with you just in case there will be problems on the road with the vehicle.

Basic stuff you would need on your travel, whether you go by foot, by land, by sea, or by air are the following: water, extra clothes, towel, money, identification card (ID), map, compass, emergency numbers, basic medicines, biscuits.

Whatever you plan for this Lenten, the important thing is we take time to pray and engage on spiritual reflection and meditation. This is what this season is all about.
