Home Makeover Challenge

We’ve started our summer home makeover early this year. We are hoping to put away the remains of the flooding by repainting our house walls and ceilings.

I thought it was going to be simple although tiring. My husband and I decided to just do everything ourselves. We both filed a leave of absence from work to devote our time to this house project. Oh boy! It was such a mistake to think it will be easy!

It took us three good and long days to finish repainting our ground floor which is only 24 square meters. It was not simply brushing the wall with paint, we had to scrub the walls first, apply masonry putty, scrub it again and apply the paints, all three coats of it.

After three days, we were totally spent. But the work is not yet done, we still have to clean the mess. Can’t help it, there were small daubs of paint all over the floor. Good thing we have Anilox roll brushes and other cleaning materials like lacquer thinner to wipe off the paint.

Doing home makeovers are really challenging, way too tiring physically and financially. How I wish I can simply win a home-makeover contest so I can just sit around while watching the makeover crew whisking everything to look grand. But since I did not win the contest, we have to do all the work ourselves.

So, see you soon after the makeover. Wish us luck!
