The other day, I was lamenting how sad it is to be far from your child. My son went to a trip to Baguio together with my husband’s family for three days and I was very worried and sad all that time.
Last night, at about 11PM, my son knocked on our door together with his Tita. I was so happy to see him again. It was like he went abroad for a few years, I was ecstatic. He was cute in his and his bag, full of blings from Baguio. I can’t help giggling.
He narrated his experiences in the city of pines and I listened intently. He was excited about his horse ride because eventhough he experienced riding a horse during our January trip in Baguio, the horse ride was just for a photo opportunity. This time he said, it was really horseback riding because the horse actually moved and walked with them at the back. He also talked about the fogs which he loved about Baguio. It’s a good thing they brought along a digital camera with a good compact flash memory card so they were able to record the moments for his momma back home.
We stopped talking at almost 12 midnight up until he fell asleep. I watched him sleeping and happy that he told me he missed me also and gave me a warm hug. These are the joys of motherhood. Enjoying sweet moments like this with your child despite the rain outside. These are some of the moments you’d say to yourself: “motherhood is all worth it.”
