Allow me to share the good news with the world wide web — the Geek Mom, this blog’s author, just passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers or LET. Wow! Geek Mom is now a certified blogger with a license for teaching!
I am very happy indeed. I cried big time after reading my name in a website that posted the result for the September 2008 LET. I called my husband and my best friends to share the good news. I was so blessed to actually pass it.
A few weeks after the exam, I was still in doubt whether I’ll take it or not. I had the reviewers photocopied and neatly organized but unfortunately, I was too busy to actually read any of it. In short, I wasn’t prepared at all. I never had the chance of reviewing my notes, not even taking a peek. I already announced to my friends I would not take the exam.
My friends and my husband kept on motivating me and cajoling me to take it. They ranted and scolded me until I stopped answering text and chat messages. I’m very lucky they did not give up on me.
On the day of the exam, my husband skipped on his sleep to take me to my assigned university and I prayed to God before I started answering the tests. I was the first student in our room who finished everything 3 hours before the time. In truth, I found the test to be not too hard nor too easy thanks to God. I was okay, really okay after exam. I was smiling all the way from my room to the LRT station to our house. I was blessed that God helped me on that one.
I was very lucky to pass the exam most takers even paid to review for. I am lucky that I am now a licensed teacher aside from a trainor for six years. I am very lucky. Thank you Lord.
