In a month, schools in the Philippines will be holding its graduations. Another year passed, another bunch of graduates from different levels will march on the stage to mark their victory.
In the last two three years, I attended graduations of my son who was a preschooler. Those were one among my happiest memories as a mother as my baby was a consistent honor student in preschool. He is now a first-grader and I’m not expecting much from him anymore except be an average student, someone who value his education and respect his teachers.
After graduation, parents faces another challenge. For those whose students will be graduating from college, no need to worry about more tuition fees, only allowances for job hunting. For those whose students are graduating from elementary and high school, welcome to another phase of challenges.
To cushion the expensive cost of education, parents may accompany their children to scholarship programs by town or city officials. Usually these kind of scholarships need not require high scholastic grades. Parents and his/her kids may also organize a garage sale to sell textbooks and school supplies from last year and other stuff.
Hopefully this year’s graduation will be happy and will bring hope to every parents and students. Congratulations!
