Mobile Networks in the Philppines

Two days ago, I was very  disappointed with my mobile network provider. All the text messages I was sending just went to my outbox and remained unsent. When I was finally fed up, I called the customer service to report what I was experiencing.

For the second time, I felt stressed. Only after my fifth call I was able to get through their very busy lines. When I told the CSR my problem, she provided me instructions on how to check the settings and features of my phone which I obliged. I remember in the past, my cousin experienced a problem with his new mobile phone. When it was checked, we learned the problem was caused by the memory card which apparently was not compatible with the phone. With this, I also checked the memory card of my phone to ensure that it’s not the one causing the problem. There are so many memory cards on sale cheaply but I was careful to buy only the one with quality so it was not surprising that mycell’s MC was working fine.

After I checked everything, I called the customer service again only to find out that the CSR I talked previously did not make any report yet about any network problem, in short, she was just banking that the problem was caused by my cellular phone. I was infuriated but I talked calmly to the next CSR and politely demanded that they look into their network services in my area.

With plan Php1,200, I am definitely not expecting any problem with simply sending text messages. These days, my network provider, I would say is doing poorly. I really regret I had to transfer my plan with their network when their competitor, a smart one, provided me close to excellent service in the past.

If you’re planning to get a mobile network plan, choose wisely and ask friends how their network providers do. Their promos are very enticing but many of those are lies and just plain promises. Hmp!
