On Motherhood: Child Delivery and Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids is a common health problem which women get after child delivery. It is what I got after giving birth with our first born.

Hemorrhoids are enlarged, painful veins in the rectum. If you try to feel them, you will touch a mass or clump of tissue within the anal canal. According to an online site on this topic, while most people think of hemorrhoids as abnormal, they are actually present in everyone. This is something new to me. When the hemorrhoidal cushions enlarge, these hemorrhoids may cause pain or discomfort and may be considered abnormal or a disease.

Having this disease is really uncomfortable. At times, not once I cried hysterically because of the pain. I seek help of friends to recommend hemorrhoids relief which actually worked. After some time though when I a stressed or suffered from diarrhea, the lump will again return.

To augment this situation, I found these hemorrhoid treatment tips to be helpful. Try it for yourself.

• Sit in a few inches of warm water in a tub for fifteen minutes, the process is called the sitz bath. This easily relieve pain and lessen the swelling. It is recommended to do this three (3) times a day or if you want instant relief from pain.

• Improve health and dietary habits. Drink more water and eat more veggies especially the green ones. Go on a high fiber diet.

• Use stool softener. Trying to force bowel movement with hard stool will cause hemorrhoid to swell.

• Do not sit for a long period of time.

• Use over-the-counter medications to relieve yourself from pain. There are available capsules and suppository for hemorroidal relief.

Note that these medications will not guarantee healing of hemorroids and dissaperance of lumps. Consult your doctor for better treatment advice.
