Actual parenting skills may now be learned through the use of robotic technology. Engineering students of Tsukuba University in Japan invented the baby robot which mimic a real-life infant. The robot changes its facial expressions and when touched, its arms and legs move.
The students developed the baby robot, which was named Yotaro, to teach young people appreciation of parenting by making them feel the joys of taking care of toddlers. Japan is currently facing a demographic crisis of rapidly ageing population.

Yotaro’s face is made of soft translucent silicon with a rosy hue and is lit by a projector connected to a computer to simulate crying, sneezing, sleeping and smiling, while a speaker can let out bursts of baby giggles.
