Securing Our Health and Life

It is a stressful week for me as two of my family members were suddenly brought to the hospital (on different occasions) for immediate medical attention, my husband and my only sister.

The only good thing is they were both diagnosed with urinary tract infection (UTI) and there’s no need for surgery or serious medical procedure but simple labaratory testings and drinking of antibiotics and pain relievers only. At least, their health is still good and the medical cost is not very expensive.

The incident though made me again think of serious issues like hospitalization costs and financial problems. Both my sister and husband, and even I are not covered by any health insurance. At least my husband and me are both covered with institutional insurances and will be entitled with social security disability benefits if ever but my sister is not.

As I’ve told my friend, staying healthy these days is very costly and if you are poor, it is like you’ll just wait for your “time” to come because you won’t be able to afford “buying” your health. Let’s not wait for that to happen, let’s try to live healthily always so we won’t get sick. Ciao!
