In the past years of handling trainings for the business community, I get to network with Human Resource practitioners as part of my organization’s objective of helping people find jobs in our locality. Though these exposures, I have learned the need of most businesses for applicants for finance jobs especially for accountants.

Just yesterday, I had a talk with two good friends, one an HR management consultant and another, an executive secretary of a bus line, and both needs accountants for their affiliate companies. Sadly, in our pool of job applicants, rare do we have graduates of accountancy to refer.

This need for people to fill in what is called as finance jobs was affirmed by the Department of Labor and Employment in a presentation on employment trend they have presented sometime early this year in our education forum. DOLE presented a shortlist of in-demand jobs in the Philippines and graduates of accountancy are included in the list. In fact, this demand is not only limited in the Philippines but also in overseas employment as well.
So if you are still contemplating what to to take in college, you may want to consider the employment trend. If you are quite fond of mathematics and is a data person, taking this college course would prove to be beneficial. Good luck!
