The House Hunt

Last year, my husband and I sort of decided we want to get a house for our family through the help of a financing institution like Pag-Ibig fund. We were contemplating on this plan because we have to consider so many factors: the amount of mortgage which would definitely affect our family budget for a really long time; the ideal house location because many of these housing projects are located in Rizal areas; and the design of the house which would suit our taste since we won’t be able to renovate for sure because of the mortgage expenses.

With the cost of living getting pricier everyday, this house hunt has became a low priority project for us. We set it aside for more than a year but it has always been at the back of my mind. I actually wanted a simple house with a small lawn, I’m a realistic person and I know what we can only afford. Unfortunately, this dream of owning a mortgaged house at this point is not even realistic.

I just thought of this dream again when I went to the grocery the other night. I was given leaflets for Monte Brisa and Eastwood housing projects. I took a long look at these leaflets when I went home. I browsed through the real estate’s array of custom houses to choose from. I fell in love with the green-painted house but marveled at its price so I settled for a nice-looking small house with good-enough design. It’s definitely not eye catching but it’s good enough for our family and we may be able to afford its mortgage if and ever we decide to get it. I just hope none of the house material was made of asbestos because none of us should ever seek a Mesothelioma treatment which may be acquired by long exposure to asbestos which is usually use as a construction material.

Hopefully this year, we can even try getting in touch with these real estate agents and look further at the possibility of owning our very own house. Hopefully… I’ll pray harder. :)
