My son is a fan of the cartoon character Spongebob Squarepants. I also like this bubbly yellow sponge especially because its one character that looks good in novelty items. I love collecting shirts and other fun stuff with cartoon characters, this is one habit I have not outgrown.
Since my son watches Spongebob everyday (without fail, unless he’s not in the house during its airtime), I caught on the habit of watching it with him since the show is truly entertaining. The cute and weird characters below the sea where this cute sponge lives are unique and their dialogues and actuations are funny. Of all these characters, I personally like Sandy Cheeks, an alien con rabbit look-a-like female who is a close friend of Spongebob. She’s a proud Texan (there’s also a town under the sea called Texas, ask Spongebob for confirmation) and she’s high spirited and very brave. I can see myself in her which is probably the reason why I like her.
It was also my fantasy to become a cowgirl. In my teenhood, I have read books with settings in farms and ranches and with heroines wearing equestrian apparel or who fell in love with cowboys. I love horses but apparently, horses do not like me at all. I tried riding one when we went to Tagaytay and in a matter of seconds, I was down on the ground and would be breaking my bones if the guide wasn’t there to catch my fall. After that, I saw my dreams of becoming a cowgirl diminished.
Doesn’t mean though I cannot like cowgirl characters anymore like Sandy Cheeks who’s uniqueness stand out even in the deep part of the ocean. Cute, cute Sandy with an aquarium bowl in her head, is indeed one cartoon that marks in my list. What about you, which cartoon character do you like?
