The Netbooks or the handy laptops are the rave today in the Philippine setting. Who would not love the the low cost internet-capable laptop that is small enough to carry everywhere. In philippine peso, the cost of these netbooks are around 12,000 to 18,000 only, very affordable.

Recently, Intel announced the coming of the 45 nanometer chip processor they named Atom. It is a low-temperature chip designed to be very small so it can power highly mobile computing devices intended or optimized for internet use.
The atom is expected to be available mi-year this 2008. Intel hope to take over its competitors on producing highly portable and internet-capable devices such as ultra mobile PCs (UMPCs), hand-held PCs, and cellphones.
Last February, Intel gave birth to Netbooks, the highly-portable purpose built PCs with the intent of capturing another PC market. Netbooks are marketed as very user-friendly PCs that are categorized as low-cost and scaled-down laptops used primarily for surfing the internet and performing other basic functions like word processing.
Like other web-centric devices, Netbooks are preloaded with applications that allow users to conduct web activities like instant messaging (or chatting), surfing, social networking, e-mailing, palying basic online gaming, listening to music and photo or video viewing.
