Students are very techy these days, especially those enrolled in private schools. Highschool and college students alike bring expensive tech gadgets to schools such as laptops, cellular phones, music players, and portable game machines, among others. Teachers complain that these electronic devices take away the concentration of learners from studying.
Another downside is that carrying said gadgets in schools poses security risks to these youngsters as they become targets of snatching and holdups. Tech stuff are easy and fast to sell and students are less likely to create commotions or show resistance when being robbed so they pose as ideal targets. To lessen such incidents, many private schools administrators remind and request their students to not bring expensive electronic equipment to school. Nevertheless, cellphones and laptops are already necessities to students these days and no matter how schools discourage them from lugging them around, they can’t really impose such rules, especially those in tertiary education.
The police have tightened their security and visibility in areas near schools to protect students from untoward incidents. However, there’s still great risks in carrying expensive stuff around especially for commuters. One strategy to prepare for losing such gadgets is to have them insured. There are already
student laptop insurance and cellphone insurance schemes you can enroll your gadgets in so in event they are stolen, you won’t cry a bucket for losing them because you will get paid.
Still, we should always practice vigilance and care so we can lessen the chances of making us the victims of such crimes.
