USB Port Hubs Craze

Are you geeky and techy too? What if you mix “geekiness” and “techiness” with fashion? What will be the result?

Fun! Since I am a self-confessed geek and shopping addict, I love computer and electronic gadgets that are functional and eye-catching at the same time. At times though, I feel that I am not a winner in terms of buying electronic products or computer peripherals that are aesthetically beautiful but poor performers, feature-wise.

Since I love techy products but with budget limitation, my favorite local store is CD-R King where you can buy inexpensive electronic tools, electronic products, computer gadgets, and just everything you need for your computer, cellphones, game console, DVD player, etc. I consider it my geeky-side’s personal shopping haven.

My newest buy, an octopus-looking white USB four-port hub that is totally out of this world and very cool! I already replaced my USB port hub which I purchased some years ago when I bought my first desktop computer. I was tempted to buy a lot of USB port hubs though and it took me some time to finally decide the design I like since all of it are 4-port hubs. The price range from P150 to P250, not bad at all. Hope you like it too as much as I do. :D

USB Port Hub

What does a USB port hub do? USB port hub is a device that optimizes the use of one usb port by splitting it into four additional usb ports which is very useful if you tend to use a lot of USB gadgets or electronics all at the same time. Generally, laptops and PC only provides an average of three (3) to six (6) port hubs only which limit your usage of multiple usb 2.0 devices at the same time. For instance, if you are using gadgets like a USB mouse, a USB printer, USB sticks, memory card readers, USB cooling fan, and other USB gadgets, you will have to unplug some in order for you to connect the others while if you are using a USB 2.0 port hub, you need not unplug the other devices because it offers additional USB hubs.

Today, you can find USB 2.0 port hubs in any computer shops or electronic stores, they’re very handy and lightweight, inexpensive and most designs are fashionable and funky too. Indeed a great choice for traveling professionals who always bring a laptop or a netbook on the road. The good news it is very easy use, just like in the picture, all you need is to plug the main USB connector to a USB port in your laptop or desktop computer and voila, you have an instant additional four USB hubs!
