One of the most exciting part of the year is summer time. The hot weather (which is hotter this year) reminds us that yes, summer has begun! Summer has a way of making me crazy at times, make me want to go to the nearest pool or beach and jump to the water with glee! Do you feel that urge too?
Our family’s summer began at the onset of March where we spent a fun day at the Club Manila East Resort in Taytay, Rizal. My son still has evidences of sun burn all over his face and body which I hope would fade somehow before his graduation this Sunday. He is such a water addict! Most kids are anyway.
After this short summer tint, we are now planning for a more extravagant summer vacation. Extravagant for me though is totally different from “extravagant” in the book of Gretchen Barreto or Tim Yap. It definitely won’t involve overseas escapades like Italy or Argentina travel, in my dreams perhaps. In our world, a profligate summer escapade is simply going out of town in a place still within the Philippines. This time though, we’re happy that we’re able to put aside some budget for a special trip to a wonderful place in the Philippines — Bohol!
It’s our family’s first time to go on a trip like this. The farthest and most expensive trip we went to so far was at Mindoro’s Puerto Galera. It was a bus and a ferry ride. This time, we’re going on a plane and my son’s pretty excited about this and honestly, I feel as excited as him. It’s gonna be his first plane ride and mine too! This is my husband and mine’s gift for our son who will turn seven (7) this year. We decided instead of a children’s party, why not a birthday trip that he would always remember and treasure.
Summer is really fun and I can’t wait spending it the way it should be spent… lounging under the sweet kisses of the sun. Hope yours will be as happy too.
